Lesson 3: A day at my job

You’ve applied for a job, you’ve introduced yourself to your new team…
Now it’s time to take the next step: imagine what it’s like to actually work there.
In this lesson, you’ll write a blog post about “A Day in My Work Life.” This is your chance to be creative and show what your job looks like from the inside.

By the end of this lesson, you are able to write a structured blog about a typical workday, using linking words and a logical time order.

Blog examples

This is an example blog of a day in the life of several jobs. Read the blog to get an idea of how to write one yourself. Discuss the blogs with your peers, and think about which aspects could be useful for when you are going to write your own blog.

Linking Words / Signaalwoorden

Clock Mindmap

In this assignment, you will practise talking about your daily tasks at work. Every job has different responsibilities, and they often happen at specific times. With the clock planner, you can show what you do during your workday and when you do it.

You will write down your activities at different times of the day, just like a real work schedule. This helps you understand your future job better and practise using time phrases in English.
